Do Alterna products contain Parabens, Phthalates, sulfates?

Our products are free of added SLS/SLES*, Parabens, Phthalates, DEA/TEA, & Synthetic Color. *Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Laureth Sulfate

Are Alterna products animal-tested?

No.

Are Alterna products gluten free?

We do not include gluten in our formulations but we do not test after formulation for gluten so there could be trace amounts in our formulas due to cross-contamination during manufacturing. We suggest doing a patch test on the inside of your wrist prior to using any of our products if you have a gluten sensitivity.

Are Alterna products safe to use during pregnancy?

There should be nothing in our formulas that will be harmful to you during pregnancy. We suggest that you consult with your doctor on what products to use during pregnancy.

Are all Alterna products vegan?

Our Caviar line is not vegan since it contains caviar.

From what fish is the caviar extract sourced for the Caviar line and is it sustainably harvested?

We sustainably source our caviar from Black Sturgeon in France.

How do I open the Caviar shampoo and conditioner bottles?

Twist the silver cap to the left just about a quarter of a rotation and turn the bottle upside down. Then squeeze the bottle to dispense the product through the silicone nipple in the cap which opens automatically to let the product out. The cap when locked pressurizes the bottle to keep product from leaking out. When unlocked, it allows product to dispense easily when squeezing the bottle. We also recommend leaving the bottles in the locked position upside down in the shower to keep the product close to the dispenser to allow for easy dispensing when unlocked.

How can I get the leftover product out of the Caviar shampoo and conditioner bottles?

To dispense leftover product out of the bottle, we suggest running hot water over the downward-facing bottle to get the product to move more freely.

Are Alterna products safe for color-treated hair?

All of Alterna products are FREE of added: SLS/SLES(harsh sulfates), parabens, phthalates, PABA, DEA, TEA, mineral oil and other harsh chemicals. Safe for color treated and chemically treated hair.

Are Alterna products safe to use after a Keratin treatment?
